About the Role:

We are recruiting for experienced Shuttering Carpenters to join a busy construction project in Exeter.

This is a long-term opportunity offering approximately 8 months of work for skilled carpenters with strong experience in formwork and shuttering carpentry.

The successful candidates will be confident working from drawings, constructing and erecting formwork systems, and completing shuttering works to a high standard while working safely and efficiently as part of an established site team.

Requirements:

• Carry out shuttering and formwork carpentry across the project.
• Construct, install and dismantle timber and system formwork.
• Build shutters for concrete walls, slabs, columns and structural elements.
• Work accurately from drawings and specifications.
• Measure, cut and assemble timber and formwork materials.
• Ensure shuttering is correctly positioned, levelled and secured before concrete pours.
• Work closely with other trades and site management.
• Maintain a high standard of workmanship throughout the project.
• Follow all site health and safety procedures.
• Keep working areas clean, organised and safe.

Desirable Skills and Experience:

• Previous experience working as a Shuttering Carpenter is essential.
• Strong knowledge of formwork and reinforced concrete construction.
• Confident working from construction drawings.
• Experience on commercial, civil engineering or large-scale construction projects.
• Own tools appropriate for shuttering carpentry.
• Valid CSCS Card.
• Reliable and able to commit to a long-term project.
• Good understanding of site health and safety.
• Able to work independently and as part of a wider site team.
• Strong attention to detail and quality of finish.
