Pay: Salary £50,000 per year, negotiable depending on experience

About the Role:

We are looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a well-established construction company based in South Devon. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the commercial aspects of a range of construction projects, ensuring costs are controlled and projects are delivered efficiently and profitably.

Requirements:

Manage the commercial aspects of construction projects from start to completion.
Prepare cost estimates, budgets and project forecasts.
Produce valuations, variations and applications for payment.
Manage subcontractor procurement, payments and final accounts.
Monitor project costs and identify commercial risks and opportunities.
Review contracts and ensure contractual requirements are met.
Work closely with site managers, contracts managers and the wider project team.
Attend project meetings and provide accurate commercial updates.
Maintain accurate records and commercial documentation.
Support the successful delivery of projects within budget.

Desirable Skills and Experience:

Previous experience working as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry.
Strong knowledge of construction contracts, valuations and variations.
Experience managing subcontractor accounts and final accounts.
Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
Able to manage multiple projects and competing priorities.
Good communication skills and the ability to work with clients, subcontractors and site teams.
Relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management is desirable.
